ALBUM AND BOOK RELEASE CONCERT

Tentative Armor by Michael Harren & luke kurtis

New York, NY— October 2, 2014 Obie Award winning New York City theater, Dixon Place presents a concert of the upcoming CD, Michael Harren’s Tentative Armor. Equal parts music and monologue, Tentative Armor is a darkly comedic collection of the performer’s first-person stories of grief, sexuality and self-discovery. The October 14 concert coincides with the Tentative Armor album and book release, and will feature selections from the album as well as new works from the composer.

Following sold-out performances in late ’13 and early ’14, Michael Harren recorded the album, Tentative Armor, and commissioned the accompanying book, designed by visual artist luke kurtis. The book combines the complete text and performance photos from the show with original photographs by luke kurtis.

”In Tentative Armor,” says Director Adam Fitzgerald (The Awake, Methtacular!), ”Michael combines his stunning musicianship with his uniquely honest and compelling storytelling voice to create a fascinating evening of performance.”

Tickets may be purchased online at www.dixonplace.org. The Dixon Place lounge is open before, during and after the show. Proceeds directly support Dixon Place’s artists and Mission.
