electric wire

by luke kurtis

The elecric wire zine is the genesis of luke kurtis’s entire Angkor Wat project. kurtis wrote and designed the zine in Siem Reap during his first visit to Cambodia. Inspired by the wires draping the streets throughout the bustling town, kurtis began to photograph the wires, intrigued by the possibilities for their graphical application. He added other visual elements, such as Buddhas and ancient Khmer sculpture. The zine also illustrates several Khmer words to illustrate the artist’s love of Cambodia and its deeply-rooted Buddhist culture.
